WESTVILLE WEARS IT PINK...LITERALLY
Wear it PINK comes to Westville with the whole school having enormous fun
October 23rd is officially 'Wear it Pink' Day in aid of Breast Cancer Now.
Not content with asking the pupils of Westville house School to wear pink all day, Headmaster, Mr Ian Shuttleworth has made sure that the whole school was appropriately dressed in pink. Launching the inaugural whole school Charity Day, Mr Shuttleworth ensured Westville House supported the campaign to ‘Wear it Pink’ by literally doing just that.
Resplendent in a giant bright pink bow, the normally pristine white school building literally glowed with pride as the Charity Day unfolded.
Starting with a fun run…in pink…around the school’s glorious grounds, followed by games, fun activities and some very pink food, the children had the most amazing day. A giant pink cupcake challenge featuring over 1000 cupcakes and rising over 9 feet tall to become Yorkshire’s largest cupcake tower was achieved. The maths calculations for planning the tower had been a great challenge for the children and provided so much excitement.
Tea and pink cakes were provided for parents and friends complete with a pink balloon release up on the school’s sports fields.
The highlight of the day proved to be a brilliant competition to choose a teacher who would be painted pink…yes painting a teacher pink. All of this in aid of wiping out breast cancer.
