Form Four celebrate Fantastic Exam Success

Children at Westville House School celebrate outstanding examination success.

Children in Form 4 (Year 6) at Ilkley’s leading Prep School, Westville House, are jumping for joy with a stack of tremendous exam results. All the children took  entrance examinations to a wide range of senior schools including The Grammar School at Leeds, Bradford Grammar, Ermysted’s Grammar School, Skipton Girls High School, Woodhouse Grove and Giggleswick. All the children are going on to destination senior schools of their choice. A large number have been awarded scholarships reflecting excellence across a range of academic subjects as well as art and sport.

Mr Ian Shuttleworth, Westville’s Headmaster, was clearly delighted with their results: “Westville has always been regarded as a truly outstanding academic school and once again I am delighted to be able to celebrate with the children on their wonderful achievements. This reflects hugely on their incredible hard work and determination, along with exceptional teaching from all the staff at the school.

It has been an absolute pleasure to receive comments from the different Heads of the senior schools such as: "The Westville children were brilliant.", "They absolutely shone.", "They were extremely well-rounded, confident and personable.", "They worked well within a range of group activities.", "They communicated well with adults.", "They showed empathy towards their fellow pupils." and “You are clearly providing your children with the skillsets to be successful.”. Comments such as these are as important as the high academic standards we continue to produce, and reinforce the Westville House "added value". The Westville staff team are to be commended for all the hard work and effort that they have put into preparing the children so thoroughly for their future schools.   Westville is very much the start of a child’s academic journey and we hope very much to be setting the Westville children on the road to success in their future careers.”
